The Story

I started teaching in Southern, Nevada in 2014. While I enjoyed working with children from the very first day, I discovered quickly that I hated all the "other stuff." The unrealistic expectations, the constant changes to programs, and the lack of curriculum and resources just to name a few. I learned that schools were more concerned about test scores and how the school looked than the children in the building. After several years I left the traditional classroom because I knew we were not doing what was best for children.

While I left the classroom, I did not leave teaching. I worked with lots of families across the valley to tutor and support students. Eventually, I decided that I wanted to open a center. I wanted something special for my children and the children in my community. The Learning Outpost was created out of the necessity to create a positive learning experience for my children and the children of Nevada.

I'm so happy that The Learning Outpost is finally ready to start serving the community. We have partnered with Tabernacle of Praise Church and will be conducting classes in the TOP Family Resource Center.
